In the middle of a long run up in the market, it becomes easy to lose sight of a possible market slide. Compensation programs designed for a boom market are often no longer sustainable once market conditions change. Even worse, many incentive plans may be actively promoting employee behaviors that work against the company’s best interests. The key question in approaching compensation in an “up” market is how to design compensation programs that are effective and sustainable regardless of the state of the market.

During this exclusive webinar, join compensation consultants Brennan Rittenhouse and Jeff Swerdlow as they discuss how companies can design compensation programs to withstand market fluctuations and come out even stronger. Brennan and Jeff will use case studies from markets that have struggled within recent years, showcasing actionable best practices for companies that don’t just seek to survive, but actually thrive through slow markets.

Attendees will learn:

  • Best practices for evaluating the sustainability of a compensation program design

  • How to tell if compensation programs are stuck in (or were designed during) a different economic outlook

  • The importance of consistency in compensation design, irrespective of the economy

  • Ways to incorporate total rewards to enhance compensation and benefit programs without increasing costs
